Midnight This sampler was inspired by a verse sent to me by author Linda Yarrow. As soon as I read it, I could see the sampler - and the result is what you see here. I think most of us can identify with that feeling you get when you've got some special time just for yourself...with no pressures or demands...time to just dream, stitch or read. Ezmiralda's Brew Ezzie is stitched on 30 count hand dyed Just Orange linen from R&R Reproductions, using DMC floss. This design only uses full cross stitches and backstitching, so it could be easily adapted for needlepoint - as well as stitching on Aida. Embellishments used are a bat charm from Stoney Creek, and the star on the end of Ezzie's hat from Just Another Button Company. DMC threads are used for everything but the lettering; that was done using Kreinik Very Fine (#4) Braid, #012. Design is 84 stitches wide x 164 stitches high and measures 5-1/2" wide x 10-7/8" high. |

Scaredy Cat
We're happy to release our first punchneedle design! It took me awhile to try this technique, but now I'm hooked! This piece is punched entirely with a one strand punchneedle, and uses Sampler Threads from Weeks Dye Works - Cornbread, Pumpkin (2 skeins), Pea Coat (2 skeins), Scuppernong - and DMC thread. The design includes a pattern for tracing onto your own fabric as well as punch instructions - and measures approximately 4" x 6" when completed. |

Tiny Sprouts The model is stitched on 32 count cream Belfast linen using DMC floss. The design is 112 stitches wide x 218 stitches high, measuring 7" wide x 13-5/8" high. My intent with this design was to create the "look" of a hand painted mat. While painted mats are beautiful, not all of us have easy access to a mat painter ... and the mats can end up being quite expensive. So - I stitched a "painted" mat look instead! This piece stitches up quickly, and it's fun to watch it take shape. I started out with an 11" x 17" piece of fabric - which gave me more than enough excess around all 4 sides to allow for framing. All necessary beads and charms are included in the chartpack. |
